Can I change SSDI attorneys?

Jamie Hall2018-12-17T11:59:57-05:00December 18th, 2018|

“Am I able to switch SSDI attorneys?”

Yes. Attorneys work at the will of their clients and can be discharged at any time. The representative system for SSDI claims allows discharged attorneys to request a fee based upon the time spent on each claim and allows the claimant to provide comments on whether said requests are appropriate.

Important considerations include whether you are able to speak with your attorney, whether your attorney has been changed multiple times by the firm you are working with, whether you believe your attorney is competent to handle your case, and whether you and your attorney have been able to establish a rapport. This is one of the more impactful decisions you can make in your claim, and this decision should not be made lightly.

I personally handle all hearings in my office and strive to return all calls within 24 hours.

Our office has handled claims in 29 states involving innumerable conditions.  We have several locations to make meeting as easy as possible and can often schedule in-home meetings for claimants with severe mobility limitations.  You are welcome to contact us to discuss your claim at (610) 343-1296 or [email protected].  As always, there is no obligation for an initial call.
